Registered as a medical device with the FDA, Edare’s WAHTS provides hearing testing without the need for a sound booth. The headset significantly outperforms other headsets on the market, while providing attenuation comparable to that of a sound booth.

Background noise attenuation is provided with integrated highly attenuating ear cups. All electronics for the audiometer reside inside the ear cups along with a Bluetooth chip for communication with a mobile platform. The mobile device only serves as a user interface, thereby allowing for devices’ platforms to pair with the headset, without any effect on the acoustic characteristics. Because it is designed for use with mobile platforms and is calibrated to applicable ANSI standards for audiometers, the device allows audiometric testing with smartphones, tablets, and the Internet.
